Panang Tofu Curry

I'm not going to lie to you; this doesn't look like a very delicious curry.  It is a little bit monochromatic.  Looks can be deceiving.  This tasted better than it looks.

I have made some great curry recipes on this blog.  I have made chicken Prik King, Matter Paneer, beef and vegetable green curry, and Japanese curry rice.

Chicken Prik King

I am posting another Thai recipe.  I'm on a roll.  I recently posted a Thai chicken basil recipe.  It was delicious.  This was a fantastic recipe too.

About a month ago, I was caught in the rain.  I ducked into a nearby Chinese store for a cheap umbrella.  I didn't have any cash on me, and the store had a ten dollar limit for credit cards.

Thai Chicken Basil

It has been too long since I have made some Thai food.  According to Wikipedia, Thai food is one of the most popular cuisines in the world.

Thailand's most popular dishes are tom yam goong, pad Thai, som tam, massaman curry, and green curry.  I have never eaten tom yam going or som tam.  It's good to know there are still tasty things out there to try.

Navratan Korma

It is starting to feel like summer around here.  Last Saturday, I was outdoors for most of the afternoon, and I was sticky by the end of the day.

My bike ride to work yesterday wasn't as refreshing.  It was more humid and sweaty.  I like summer, but it has its drawbacks.

Mattar Paneer

It's March.  It is my birth month.  I already have my cakes planned out.

I had narrowed it down to two different types but couldn't decide between the two.  Instead, I am going to make two cakes.  I'm going to have a pre-birthday cake to get into the spirit of things.

Slow Cooker Butter Chicken

Two days ago I ate a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomatoes, and onion.  It was delicious, but the reason I mention it is I'm pretty sure it game me a weak food born illness.

I spend the following night twisting and turning.  I woke up multiple times and slept fitfully.  Luckily, I think I am fully recovered.  My stomach feels empty but not angry.

Beef and Vegetable Green Curry

The holidays feel like they are officially over.  I came home for over a week this year, and I am going back today.  It was good to see my family and how everyone had changed.

It has been very relaxing.  It is going to be an adjustment to wake up tomorrow at six and go work for nine hours.

Chicken Massaman Curry

Yesterday I was walking and talking in a park.  I was not looking at my path.  My foot fell into a whole.  I fell and twisted my ankle.

It hurt a little, but I assumed I could just walk it off.  It wasn't a big deal, but I had to walk a few miles that day. Today my angle is stiff and puffy.  Woe is me.

Thai Spicy Basil Chicken Fried Rice

I'm posting this from Vietnam.  I wrote it before leaving, so I'm not going to discuss my travels at all. I'm sure I am having a wonderful time.

A few months ago a bought some Thai basil.  It was a plant that was sold in a little disposable pot of dirt.  I have kept watering it, and it is still alive.  I don't think it is going to survive the week and a half I'm in Vietnam, so I picked every leaf to make this stir fried rice.

Thai Green Beef Curry

I am currently taking a calculus class at a community college.  The last calculus class I took was when I was a freshmen in college.  It has been over ten years.

I remember using graphing calculators, but when I pulled one out recently, I was completely bewildered.  I vaguely remember learning the terms and techniques we have covered so far.

Palak Paneer

A few weeks ago, I went to an Indian cooking class in my community with a friend.  We make a few types of curry.  They were all vegetarian.  One had peas and mushrooms, and its sauce had pureed cashews.  It was delicious.

We also made palak paneer.  I have always enjoyed palak paneer in restaurants but had never made it myself until the class.  I had to look for paneer cheese a few places before I found it.  My neighborhood grocery store didn't carry it.  I bought my paneer at Whole Foods.  Too bad I don't live near an Indian grocery store.

Thai Shrimp Green Curry

A memorable event occurred yesterday.  I saw the daughter of a well known politician purchasing food at a swanky deli.  I wouldn't have noticed, but the employee helping me at a nearby counter mouthed the words to me.

He had to repeat this charade a few times before I understood.  I don't read lips well.  I wouldn't have noticed if the employee hadn't pointed it out to me.  Her back was towards me, and her security personnel were casually dressed.

Shrimp Pad See Ew

A couple of sushi burrito places have opened up in my area, and I can't seem to get enough of them.  In the last month, I have eaten three sushi burritos.  They are really yummy.

It's such a fun idea.  Asian and Mexican fusion foods seem to be big.  Korean tacos took off and now sushi burritos.  Some people have very clever food ideas.

Sri Lankan Potato and Cashew Curry

I'm currently enrolled in a tap dancing class, but the last two weeks we had didn't have classes.  We were encouraged to practice, but I didn't.  It's amazing what you can forget in just two weeks.

We are learning a dance, and I forgot over half of the steps.  I could tell that I wasn't the only pupil who didn't practice.  I think the teacher was a little frustrated by our deterioration.

Red Curry Chicken Stir-Fry

On Tuesday I went to group workout with a friend.   The leader only uses exercise that require no equipment or weights.  It's amazing how well you can exercise with only your body weight.

I feel like we did a million squats.  That's an exaggeration of course, but my muscles were exhausted. The next day I was aware of every muscle it took to walk up stairs.  Overtime I walked up a set of stair, I held onto the railing for support.

Yellow Chicken Curry

I am counting my steps this week.  I'm using a flimsy, free pedometer.  At least once a day I inadvertanly reset it.  I was challenged to count my steps for a week at work.  It has been a hassle so I don't think I'll do it past Friday.

It has encouraged me to walk more.  Yesterday I walked to a metro station further away instead of getting on the one closest to me.  I walked so much today that my legs are tired.
