Oatmeal Cookies with Dried Cranberries, Chocolate Chips, Pecans, and Toffee Bits

I have a soft spot for oatmeal cookies.  Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, but I have a hard time saying no to a soft oatmeal cookie.

I like oatmeal raisin cookies, but I prefer oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips too.  These cookies combine the deliciousness of dried fruit and chocolate chips.

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes with Chocolate Chips and Toffee Bits

I'm posting another pancake recipe today.  I can eat pancakes for any meal.  These have oats and whole wheat flour, so they are full of fiber.

Of course, I added chocolate chips and toffee bits, so it's not really healthy.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies with Cocoa Nibs

I work nine hour days, and then have every other Friday off.  Today is my designated day off.  It was very windy today, and many other people had their work cancelled.

This would not have effected me, but a museum that I had planned to attend was also closed because of the wind.  Instead of exploring my city, I have been lazy all day.  The only productive things I have done all day are exercise, grocery shopping, and buying new running shoes.

Chocolate Overnight Oatmeal with Raspberries and Blueberries

I saw Macbeth for the first time yesterday.  I thought I  had read it before, but I was surprised by the plot.

I knew it was a tragedy, but there was more blood than I was anticipating.  There are three witches who predict Macbeth's future.  They are usually three mythical creatures.

Cranberry Bread with Orange and Oats

My parents receive their local newspaper.  Every week or so they get a free insert tucked in the center fold of the newspaper.  I have forgotten the name, but it has articles and recipes.  My mother clipped this recipe out of the insert.

I tried the recipe out when I was home.  I didn't make the recipe as directed.  It calls for whole wheat flour.  My parents have a bucket of wheat and a wheat grinder.  My father has taken on the responsibility of official wheat grinder.

Raspberry and Almond Overnight Oatmeal with Coconut

It is officially the holiday season.  There have already been a few Christmas or light parades, the radio stations are playing Christmas music, and I have already attended my first Christmas party.

I'm a little caught of guard that Christmas is just around the corner.  I don't purchase many Christmas presents, and fortunately I already know what I'm going to give everyone.  I don't give all of my siblings gifts.  Instead, we alternate between giving one person a gift a year.

Cowboy Cookies

I am typing this from home.  I haven't gone home for Thanksgiving for seven years.  I have only been here for a couple of days, but it has been really enjoyable.

I usually just come home for Christmas, but this year I am doing both.  It has been wonderful to see family and see how much my nieces and nephews have changed in less than a year.

Banana Overnight Oatmeal

I have a dentist appointment this morning.  The last time I went to the dentist, I had been so diligent about flossing.  I flossed pretty much every day.

The last six months I have been much less diligent.  I feel a little guilty.   There are just so many good things that I should be doing, and I don't do all of them.

Apple Pie Overnight Oats

Yesterday I went to a Harry Potter festival in Pennsylvania.  The festival was fun.  There were many clever and detailed costumes.  The festival was located in the town's main street.  Some of the stores added names to their storefronts from the book.

The festival was located in an adorable city.  The main street had cobblestones.  The stores were so quaint and charming.  The homes were beautiful and regal.

Overnight Carrot Cake Oats

I have found a replacement for my pancake addiction.  For the last month, I have eaten overnight oatmeal almost everyday for the last month.

It is a very convenient breakfast because you can prepare everything the night before.  I also like that it doesn't need to be heated.  You can grab it and eat it on the go with no morning preparation.

Oatmeal and Coconut Cookies with Cinnamon Chips

I hope you had a wonderful New Year's celebration.  I can't believe 2015 is over.  It has been a fast year.

I don't often make New Year's goals. I'm more prone to make goals around my birthday.

Cranberry and Chocolate Oatmeal Muffins

When I lived with my parents, I regularly watched PBS.  I have started getting in the habit again, and it's been delightful.

I'm currently binge watching American Experience and Antiques Roadshow.  I just finished an episode on Thomas Edison.  I didn't know he was instrumental in inventing motion pictures.  Before watching American Experience, I was just aware he invented electricity.

Peanut Butter, Banana, and Chocolate Baked Oatmeal

I talked with some of my coworkers about cyber security at lunch today.  Cyber security is daunting and frightening.  I don't do enough to prevent cyber attacks.

It's counterintuitive that I'm concerned about cyber security, yet I share loads of personal information on a public blog.  I wonder if blogging increases the likelihood of cyber attacks.

Oatmeal Pancakes

What are your thoughts about going to a movie by yourself?

I didn't work last Friday.  I was supposed to replace my driver's license, but I was told by a DMV worker that I needed another document.  Instead of doing useful and productive errands, I went to the movie theater during the middle of the day.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies

I had an interesting work week.  Of the 25 people with whom I usually work, there were no more than 3 to 4 people in the office on any given day.  My boss was out everyday.

The first day I came back, I was the only person in my corner of the building.  It's never a rowdy environment, but I could have heard a pin drop.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate Oatmeal

A couple of years ago I visited my brother and sister in-law in Illinois.  While I was there, we ate chocolate oatmeal made with hot chocolate.  It was ingenious.

This version is similar to what I ate two years ago, but I added half a candy cane to make it peppermint flavored.
