Brussels Sprout Salad with Bacon, Pecans, and Raisins

It's Friday! Fortunately, I don't work today.  I had an alternative work schedule and have every other Friday off.

I think I am going to go see an new exhibit at an art museum and see the movie Ready Player One. I read the book a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

Caramelized Brussel Sprouts with Apples and Pecans

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Brussel sprouts are my favorite vegetable.  I think they are so yummy.

I have made and posted several Brussel spout recipes.  Last May I made honey sriracha roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon.  Over a year ago I made butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, apple, and sausage salad with blue cheese, cranberries, and pecans.

Honey Sriracha Roasted Brussels Spouts with Bacon

Another Brussels spouts recipe! I'm clearly a fan.

Brussels sprouts are the bud of the flower.  The precursor to Brussels sprouts first appeared in northern Europe during the 5th century.  The modern Brussels sprouts could have begun being grown as early as the 13th century in Brussels.

Roasted Brussels Spouts in Mango Nectar Glaze

This week week just flew by.  I'm happy it's Friday; it was a busy week, but I'm a little surprised it is the weekend already.

I'm a big fan of Brussels sprouts.  They are probably my favorite vegetable.   I'm a fan of vegetables, so that is true praise.

Butternut Squash, Brussels Sprouts, Apple, and Sausage Salad with Blue Cheese, Cranberries, and Pecans

What a mouthful of a name!  I didn't know what element to exclude, so I ended up keeping all the components of the salad in the name.  The name may be a bit much, but it is very descriptive and accurate.

I have a soft spot for salads with salads with butternut squash and Brussels sprouts.  I have made a salad with Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, caramelized onion, and dried cherries and another salad with Brussels spouts, butternut squash, feta cheese, and pecans.

Roasted Vegetables and Mozzarella in Pesto

I'm in sunny San Diego this week for a conference.  San Diego is a beautiful city.  The conference is educational and fun.  I have already meet many new people.  Being here is a nice change of pace.

I have been eating well, probably too well.  I don't think I'll want to weigh myself when I get back to Virginia.  The conference often provides food, and San Diego is full of fantastic restaurants.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Caramelized Onions and Candied Pecans

I have had a long week with little sleep.  Long weeks make me excited for the weekend.

I slept less than five hours Thursday night.  I need more than five hours of sleep to function properly.  On Friday, I was doing technical analysis all day at work, and my mind wasn't sharp.

Balsamic Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  I took a few extra days off of work and visited some family in Illinois.  It was very enjoyable.

We went on a few short hikes, ate s'mores, saw a Frank Lloyd Wright house, and went on a architecture tour of Chicago from a ship on Lake Michigan.  The crew members on the ship were all dressed up like pirates.  It was pretty awesome.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Sriracha and Honey

A couple of weeks ago I spent the weekend with a friend in Baltimore.  She told me about this dish she ate with brussels sprouts, sriracha, honey, and tofu.  I asked for the recipe, and she sent it to me.

In the few days between hearing about her recipe and receiving it, I searched for and made this recipe.  I have a soft spot for brussels sprouts.  I eat them at least once a week.  I'm always looking for a new way to prepare them.

Cheesy Brussels Sprouts

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends.

I decided last minute to to see the Macy's Day Parade.  My friends and I are going to start waiting by the parade route at 5 am.  I was told not to expect bathroom facilities for the whole morning we are at the parade.  I'm going to start dehydrating myself tomorrow evening.

Sauteed Brussels Sprouts and Blueberries with Thyme

This maybe one of the strangest looking recipes I have posted.  I posted an egg and date concoction that looked pretty weird too.

I got the recipe from a coworker.  She likes trying out trends in healthy eating.  She is experimenting with the paleo diet.  There is no way I could follow the paleo diet perfectly.  I'm sure I'd lose weight, but at what price?

Brussels Spouts, Butternut Squash, and Caramlized Onion Salad with Dried Cherries and Walnuts

I started working from home one day a week.  I did it the first time this week.  It was nice.  I got to sleep in a little bit more because I didn't have to commute.

I did some laundry and prepared my lunch in my own kitchen instead of carrying little Tupperware containers full of food to work to heat up in the microwave.

Brussels Sprouts and Butternut Squash Salad with Feta and Pecans

I am posting this recipe from Iceland.  I wrote the post before leaving, so I'm not sure if I'm having wonderful adventures or not.

I made this recipe up.  Brussels sprouts are my favorite vegetable, and there are so many beautiful and creamy butternut squash around this time of year.  I decided to merge these two scrumptious ingredients together, along with pecans and feta, to make a delightful fall salad.

Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Happy Labor Day!  My extended family celebrates Labor Day with a cookout at a outdoor recreation area with hotdogs, s'mores, and tons of other treats.  There is always way more food than can be eaten.

After eating, many people take a short hike up the side of the mountain to a lookout.  It's the same hike every year.  I will not be there in person this year, but I will be thinking of them.

Brussels Sprout Slaw with Honey Dijon Vinaigrette, Dried Berries, and Almonds

Today I rode my bike home from work in a rain storm.  When I say rain, I mean deluge.  I was soaked to the skin.

At times the rain was so hard it limited my eyesight.  I had to slow down to avoid running into sign or tree.
