I have not posted for a while. I left for about a week to go visit family at home. I brought my laptop with me, but did not end up turning it on for the entire time. That is a sign of a good, fun filled week.
Unfortunately, I think that was my last vacation until Christmas. I may end up taking a couple of weekend trips, but that is it.
Going home was lots of fun. We want kayaking, saw a couple of plays, and went to a natural science museum. I also hung out with my family. The time flew.
We saw a play called the Foreigner. It was really funny. One of the actors was so great. He was playing a character called Charlie. He has such great expression. He had to act out a scene where he was pretending to be possessed, and he did an amazing job.
I made these cookies a few weeks ago for a going away party. They were very yummy and popular. I found this chocolate chip cookie recipe on a blog called The Kitchen. I made it as directed.
The ingredients are 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, 1 heaping teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 8 tablespoons butter, 2 cups packed brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips.
I creamed together the butter and brown sugar for a few minutes.
I creamed in the eggs one at a time. I then creamed in the vanilla extract.
I mixed in the baking soda, salt, and flour until the flour was fully incorporated.
I mixed in the chocolate chips.
Each cookie consisted of 1 1/2 tablespoons of batter. I placed the dough mounds about two each from one another on a baking sheet lined with a baking mat.
I baked the cookies for about 10 to 11 minutes at 350 degrees.
I let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the pan before removing them to a wire rack to continue to cool.
These were scrumptious cookies. They were sweet and buttery.
They had a caramelized, golden flavor. The texture was tender and soft. The edges were a little crisp.
They were chewy and toothsome. They were really tasty.
The chocolate was creamy and gooey.
Chocolate chip cookies are so simple, but a good cookie is so satisfying and decadent too. This is a stellar recipe.
I give this recipe two thumbs up. I ate more of them then I should have. They were popular at the party as well.
They had a great texture and flavor. I plan on using this recipe again.
