Garlic Noodles

I have a terrible habit, an addiction really.  I have an insatiable thirst for diet Dr. Pepper.

I drink at least one diet Dr. Pepper every weekday.  It such a waste of money, and I'm sure it's dissolving the lining of my stomach.

With all the aspartame and artificial flavors, I'm sure diet Dr. Pepper is about as healthy as drinking straight high fructose corn syrup.

I have made goals to reduce how much I drink in a day, but there has never been resolve or commitment behind my goals.  One of these days, I'll buckle down and actual stop drinking the stuff.  I'll savor each refreshing sip until then.

I saw this recipe on Youtube.  The channel is Honey Suckle Catering, which is an adorable name.

The ingredients are 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon fish sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon water, 9 to 12 ounces noodles, 3 to 5 garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1 tablespoon olive oil.  I used udon noodles, but she suggests Shanghai noodles.

I mixed the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and water together while I cooked the noodles according to the package instructions.

I drained the noodles after they were cooked.  In a pan over medium heat, I melted the butter and oil together.  I added the garlic and cooked it for a minute.

I poured in the sauce and let it cooke for a couple of minutes.

I dumped the drained noodles into the pan and stirred to coat the noodles with the sauce.  I stirred and cooked the noodles until they were hot.

This was carb laden comfort food at its best.

It was loaded with garlic, butter, and oil.

The soy, oyster, and fish sauces were fragrant and added an exotic and deep flavor.

It was toothsome and flavorful.  The recipe was quick and easy.  I'll definitely make this again.

Looks delicious but what I really want to know is, did you wash it all down with a Diet Dr. Pepper? :P
