Soy and Sriracha Glazed Brussels Sprouts

I saw the third Hunger Games movie yesterday.  I think it is called Mocking Jay.  I read the first two books and was partway through the third book when I realized it wasn't going to end well. I like my stories to end happily.

Instead of finishing the book, I jumped to the last chapter and read it.  After reading the last chapter, I had no desire to read the middle.  That isn't the first time I have read the last chapter of a book and decided it wasn't for me.

The movie ends partway through the third and final book.  As the credits started playing, a man in the front of the theater yelled, "hell no!"  Everyone in the theater started laughing.

Needless to say, nothing is resolved in the end of the movie.  The movie was well done.  I felt compassion for Katniss; she has serious issues she needs to work though.

Anyway, these Brussels sprouts were delicious.  I got the recipe from food.com.  The ingredients were 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, 4 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, 3 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 1/2 tablespoons sriracha sauce, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger,  and 1 1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic.

I added the mustard, ginger, and garlic into a bowl.

I added olive oil, soy sauce, and sriracha sauce into the same bowl.

I whisked these ingredients together and then poured in the washed Brussels Sprouts.   I let the Brussels Sprouts marinate in the sauce for 3 to 6 minutes.

I heated a skillet to high heat and added the sprouts.  I cooked the sprouts for about 12 to 14 minutes stirring occasionally.  Delicious, caramelized brown bits form.

This was scrumptious.   The texture is fantastic.  The spouts are soft inside with a caramelized surface.

The sprouts were also flavorful.  They had a strong, spicy kick.  The flavor was more complex than just spicy. There was the flavor of mustard, ginger, and soy sauce too.

I'll definitely make this dish again.  It is an exciting and new way to prepare my favorite vegetable.  Two thumbs up!
